This piece of poetry is based on a sonnet my grandfather used to recite to my family every Easter. The original one he did goes like this:
"When Wifey spies an Easter Bonnet
And has her heart so set upon it
She can hardly wait to don it
Take your watch, go and pawn it
and let her buy that Easter Bonnet
She can't argue then, dog-gonnit!"
And yes, I am aware that Monet is actually pronounced "Moh-Nay", thank you. And this is just one of two I'm uploading here for Easter, so you watch for the other one!
