This is, indeed a single photograph. It is not a work of art using a lot of time putzing with Photoshop. The original subject is multi-colored xmas lights, thrust into hyperspace by very carefully operating the zoom ring on a Telephoto lens while taking a long exposure. The abstract effect that resulted from the experiment was impressive to say the least!
