Jim was born to a family of pilots and airshipman, and as such has been on and around them for most of his life. 19 of the 24 years of his life have been spent airborne, and he has intimate knowledge of the workings of almost any craft. He did a 6 year stint in the Aeronavy, and has learned to fight from that. He has a custom Engineering Lupara shotgun, with the left barrel with a medium choke, and an extendable axe.

From time spent on heavy lift ships lifted by hydrogen, he tends to be jumpy when there are open flames on board a ship, because of one ship that went up in flames out from under him.

He's a hard worker and quick and efficient, but he has a tendancy to lay down on the nearest precarious perch and nap, though any time he is needed or hears something wrong with the ship, he instantly snaps awake in that way that only cats can do.
