This is fairly old and bears the watermark of my deviant art name which I started doing because my artwork had been pilffered more then a few times from that site.

Ooohh, I really like the effects you put into this one! The shine in the hair, the glow in the eyes and gem, the shading and background... all very nice.

Did you do that background yourself? I'm trying to figure out how to make a similar design with something I'm working on.

Yup! I did the background all from scratch. I used to be fairly good at creating outerspace backdrops with photoshop, it's a whole lot of burning and dodgeing and blending and layers and overlays

No problem! The brush I used was actually the leaf brush in photoshop with various dark blues and also used that same brushed when burning and dodgeing, when you blurr filter it it doesn't look like a leafe as much and tada you have outer space!
