Yay! I drew Set (or Seth) the Egyptian god of chaos, storms, wind, the desert, forign nations, and other good stuff. Despite his sometimes negative light, I never really saw Set as such a bad guy... more like necessary chaos and the "yin" when you consider the Taoist role Egyptian mythology can sometimes take. Like when things get too comfortable he balances things out with a good dose of violence and mayhem.
Anyhoo, his costume has a lot to do with his chaos theme and his role with foriegners. The "spell" he's casting is represented in the chaos star, and if you look closely you can see the symbol in his belt and face makeup. His costume is only vaguely Egyptian, and instead pays homage to the Hittites with his stripped mail shirt, and to Hyskos with his crown. As for Set himself, I realize that everyone has their own idea of what he's supposed to look like and what animal he's supposed to be... this is my version (taking some cues from Hockey Raven too, since I liked her depiction). I also found out that he's supposed to have red hair, I'll try to include that next time.
Enjoy

Yay! Set! WooHoo! *Does the happy dance of semi-evil.* I like the way you carefully thought out both his costume and demeanor, comparing it with the subjects that he was divinity over. Not too many people would consider that before or while drawing him, and I an very, very impressed. :)
Now for the inevitable Silly Question: Is this before or after he dismembered Osiris?

heheh, he's become villified after Egypt was occupied by Hyskos for a while, they didn't trust their neighbors too well after that.
In the end though, as much as the Egyptians didn't like being under the Hyskos, they benefited quite a bit from their technology... heh in that way maybe Set is more "hard love" then evil
