Rise of the Robots: Organic Builder/Prime-8
Another thing to add on to the "Only I would want this" pile! It's a throwaway character from one of the earliest "Graffisk not gameplay" flops of the videogame world: Rise of the Robots!
In the game the second opponent you face is a Construction robot named Builder(Ret-Coned to Prime-8 in the sequel, Resurrection). He's got incredible strength and agility in his arms, but his legs are a weak point. I thought he was pretty adorable and gravitated towards him instantly. Oddly, he's something of a mascot for the first game, showing up on the Continue and Game Over screen to count down for you. He also, inexplicably, is chomping a cigar while he does so, which sealed the deal for me. He NEEDED to be drawn!
Since I surely would have butchered his robot form, I decided to put a spin on things: What would he look like as an actual gorilla? This is what you get. I'm actually pretty happy with this, it's different but it's still distinctly him...
For reference, this is what he looks like normally: http://www.randelshofer.ch/animatio.....ilder.anim.png
