You hear the beat of the music and your tail thumps
The lights pulsing in time to the deafening base
And the masks all around
Wolves and bears
Cats and dragons
All just masks to hide behind
To get lost in that beat

One mask only half pulled down
He’s not hiding, and the light moves around him
As if he isn’t there at all

His body bends and twists to the beat
The mask slides down
And then off
And you see the person surrounded by the hidden
Just hiding in his own music
