unlike other sumissions, here the title has not much to do with the picture shown, but is one of my favourite songs by Mike Oldfield (this here metalhead CAN listen to music outside of the box). look up the video clip on YT. ^^
there is no reason why she became a blue vixen, I just thought it would look unusual. so, why not? :)

Oh, cool! Du hast Fellstruktur reingebracht! Das ist toll. :)

ja, man lernt dazu nichtwahr. :)
XD

Well, that's an interesting take on the colours for sure, and a nice background too, much more than I'd probably bother doing most of the time XD
Interesting way to shade the tail, that must taken a while, I don't know if that particular way really goes that well with my style of drawing... but atleast it looks nice ^^
Speaking of blue foxes, I vaguely remember a history/biology class or an article(I think) which mentioned something about how blue coloured foxes were bred by some russian fur farmer who tried to breed a fox that would wag it's tail like a dog, and succeeded, but the result also had a strange fur colour, as in something else than the (usually) desired orange or white. I'm not entirely sure if the result was blue, but I think it may have been.

oh, the BG didn't take much time, it's only a handful of lines and some ochre for the wallpaper. :)
and about the tail, I was attempting to recreate what I see others do, but only in ym own way. I think I have succeeded at last. :) at least the tail looks like a collection of soft starnds isntead of a mass of hair like usual.
I doubt that way of shading works well with any digital colouring, there are other ways to create the illusion of fur with digital. ^^
gee, I'm glad you like it after all the freedoms I've taken. :)
those blue foxes might have been a colour variant to the silver foxes they bred, which might have come from russian arctic foxes. said dog-wag breed also started to develop sloppy ears, too, so scientists believe sloppy dog ears are part of the domestication unless bred with ears upright. which explains why so many dog breeds have sloppy ears despite not being bred for hunt. or not being bred that way anymore...
that hue of blue is actually something between black and dark indigo, the same colour pencil I uswed for her darker fur parts. :) there is also some silver inbetween.

ah, I see. :) well, I was wondering about the contest then it ocurred to me sin ce Starfighter mentioned one other participant at DA. :)
no bad result for not having time. digital can take much longer because of the countless possibilities, methinks. :)
her pose reminded me of someone laying on the carpet listening to music, so the BG came natural. and since I work analogue (traditional for those of mundane origin) I had to re-ink the outlines, and widened her nosetip on the way. :) the cleanup was actually including the remaining grey scales within the colouring and shading. XD nothing too fancy, except that I found a way to shade fur structure into some things like the tail, which consist of hair only mostly. :)
also, I picked one of SFs characters, but he needs that one for a story, so I went for blue foxy.
