When I was little, the routine was, my dad and I would put them up on Thanksgiving day. But we didn't turn them on until AFTER Thanksgiving dinner was over.

We haven't had lights up on the house for years. Mostly I've just had one of those tiny plastic trees in my room. This year we might set up some lights around the gazebo. ^__^

It's not much, but it adds to the whole spirit of the season as far as I'm concerned.

Actually, these are the Chinese mini-lights.
I originally had the "old school" C-7 lights, but that took 700 watts to run them.
I tried the C-7 shells with the LEDs inside, but you almost couldn't see them. I was not impressed.
