yep the bouncee is from the trade and tip if you didn't know (i didn't till later) only the female salandit evolves

Yeah, I was lucky to spot an article on Yahoo (because fucking anything can be news worthy nowadays) about it. It was the morning after the night I caught Salandit, and I saw an article mentioning an evolution that was really bothering players, and showed a screenshot of Salandit. Expecting something rather technical or secretive (like Yanma needing to know Ancient Power to evolve), I decided to check it out. I get the gender ratio can be slightly annoying, but the article built it up to being a much bigger deal than it actually is. Either way, by that point I had only gained a few levels with my male Salandit, so it wasn't too much trouble to capture and train a female replacement.

I would've known sooner, but I've been trying to avoid looking up too much information on the new Pokémon following the reveal of the final evolutions for the starters, so I can be surprised by at least some of the newcomers. I've also been following a rule (that I've never done before) where I'm only using new Pokémon, and Alolan forms. There were a few exceptions early on, like Magnemite and Drowzee, but those were because the early game doesn't provide very many options of varying types.

yah i was following the same rule not looking anything up for the evolutions of my pokemon i just got lucky for salandit and got a female one. the pokemon that relly annoyed me was my crabominable Dizz when i got him up to level forty-ish i just had to look up when he evolses or if theres a special way .... spoiler the way is you train them on the tallest damn mountain heh so he evolved around ...50-60ish.

I'm not using that one, so it's no big deal. My team is currently Decidueye, Charjabug, Oricorio, Lycanroc, Mudsdale, and Salazzle. Also, since HMs are no longer a thing, I've been avoiding using water-types like the plague. I'm so sick of every game always requiring the use of a water-type just for surfing (especially because of Surf being a required move for nearly every Victory Road), that it's my little way of celebrating HMs being gone.
