The Mustang is a modern American muscle car, designed for serious power and to be awesome. That BMW is a very old, normal family car with four doors, designed to be practical. So you'd expect the Mustang to be faster. You'd be right, but it's not by as much as you might think, and in certain cases, and on certain racetracks, the BMW will actually be superior.
Gods, but I love yer car stuff!
I'd not want to bet on a race between the two. The new plastangs (they replace rustangs) are keen, but I love the originals, none the less, they have style in spades when every other Yank car looks like an upside down half used bar of soap.
BMW's are still style class and speed, refined.
