=P It's not that bad. I asked him for it because they corresponded pretty well with the characters in my story.

This is actually for a story I've been writing, and the hawk character definitely fits Rorschach more.
If were to consider a truly "furrified" Watchmen I'd go:
Nite Owls --> Owls, different species
Dr. Manhattan --> Lion
Ozymandias --> Stag ("He's a vegetarian, for god's sake.")
Silk Spectres --> Cats (Laurie probably has some fur colours from the Comedian, =3)
Rorschach --> Jackal / Mutt dog
Comedian --> Hyena / Coyote

Interesting.. and good choices, I think. Although Dr. Manhattan seems more of a huge, impassive (and all bald) elephant to me. Blowing up stuff by pointing his trunk at it. :P
Hyena is great for the Comedian, not only because of the 'laughing' thing, but because of the vicious attitude.
As for Rorschach, I continue to prefer a spider for the role, with the small stature/large strength, isolation, climbing/grappling gun and dislike of women/sexuality. A spider would fit it all, and also sort of fit the colour scheme.. and I imagine a spider would be a bit fearful of sex due to female spiders occasionally eating their mates.

Ahahah, yes, I agree on the elephant. Much more appropriate, in the "person of time and power" type. (Not to mention some cheap shots involving his ding-dongs and the trunk.) ^_^
To me, Rorschach is a bit hard to "species-ize" because I'm not sure what sort of animal could fit into his extreme Objectivist, moralizing, extreme justice slant. Your points for an arachnid hold up well, though. *ruminates some more*
