Holy crap, this is AMAZING. the way it fits and allows your hair to flow out (or is the darker hair in front attached to the mask? ...either way though) looks awesome... it really looks like it's your real face.
Also, i think this is just about the only time i've seen an 'animal' mask with this kind of eye arrangement that didn't look slightly off. (human eyes are like, too close together, and it usually looks weird when they become the eyes of a larger face)
Are you going to wear black facepaint around your eyes when you're done or anything? I'm just wondering if the eye sockets there are supposed to be like ...evil-creepy empty eyes. I guess i should just wait and see...
But yes... good job so far, This is rad. :3

Hey, thanks. All the hair is mine :D I tried to make it so it would fit to my hairline.
Black face paint is probably a good idea. I can make an unlimited number of these now, having made the mold for it, so I'll paint a few up in different color schemes and see which works best.
I should have pictures up soon enough of the finished result :)
Thank you!

The plasticine sculpture was destroyed in the mould making process, so you're just left to hope that things turn out okay from there. There are other ways to do it, but this seemed the easiest to me, and I just wanted to try something fairly simple to begin with. Will probably play around with other techniques in the future.
Whoooooooooa that is cool. Your EYES like...look SO REAL HOW DO YOU DO THAT? Haha, but for reals. I really like it! And it's great you've made a mold for it, too -- there's nothing like working REALLY REALLY hard on something...but ALSO knowing that if you screw up something with the finishing or whatnot...there's always the ability to now make more. That is very good business.
But I do indeed dig the way it rights right up to your hairline, so it's sorta...exploding out from around it. It looks VERY real and I love the smoothness it has because of that. Yay for you! I took look forward to painted versions of it!

I know :0 The eyes were the hardest part!
I am happy I can make more of these :D Since I want to experiment with a few different colorations and techniques for making it firm enough to hold its own weight.
Thank you :) Should hopefully have colored pictures to show soon...

The visibility is good for me, but for people with bigger heads the eyes are apparently too close together. Breathing is okay... I kinda under estimated how large the nostrils should have been, but it's definitely not bad, and I could still cut the nostrils to be slightly larger if needs be. I like latex for how adjustable it is.
Thank you kindly :)
Thank you kindly :)
I found it pretty easy - far easier than my last foam/epoxy/paper mache mask. You just have to source the right materials, and be sure of what you're doing. I was pretty nervous about it since it's the first time I've done anything like this, but you learn a lot in the process :)
That is amazingly creepy but awesome at the same time... I love how it looks like it could be either a warmask, or indeed your own face. o_O I forget what they were called but there was a monster in D&D which could peel back the skin of its face to scare the bajeezus out of people.
