
Well, not a box, exactly. In Second life, things run considerably faster the less there is to process. Obvious, right? So when you're building something, you can use something called a skybox, which sometimes isn't a box. You fly way up, away from all of the objects, scripts, particle emitters, textures, etc on the ground, and then you drop your workspace, and it stays there, in midair. The one I built was a large disc, with guardrails around the edge, and a section in one corner with couches for visitors, and a few other little add ons.
Anyway, to the point: The system ate it. I logged in, and a bunch of my stuff was gone, including the platform. So this is my favorite screenshot from the platform, looking west out over Skidz Isle at dusk. The outline on the left is my "regular" wolf avatar.
