sushikitten in command/helm yellow and
asphyxia_lemieux in security/engineering red fighting off a gorn, lol!I had to scan this in two parts, then fit together in photoshop... The left side didn't scan very well though. The gorn is much more gray/brown than green and his tunic thingy has darker red/browns in it =( oh well.

Wooooow!!! This looks fantastic Bix! I had no idea it would look as dramatic as this! Nice action scene and love the posing! I love how the background came out too! I still can't believe you did this in traditional media! Where's your sig? I do hope you'll sign this before you package it off. Thank you once again for a wonderful commission!
lol, I always forget to sign so there isn't one on the scan. I remembered eventually, thgouh, so it's in the lower right hand corner now ;) I can't believe how quick this came out!, after I inked it I was starting to think I'd have to note you and ask for more time... but once I sat down and started it came out in no time =o I think I was just having fun with the rocks ;D
Wowwww, this is gorgeous! I absolutely love everything about it! GORNS FTW. Or FTL as the case may be. Love the staging, the poses (especially with sushikitten's), but what I am most floored by is the clean and precise colouring with the background. The craggy rocks have wonderful detail in them!
Doesn't look altogether unlike the Vasquez Rocks, where they filmed the Star Trek episode ("Arena") you mean. But the rocks should all sland only *one* direction, not back and forth. They're a lot less saturated in colour too, being a sort of pale sandy-yellow.
When I was there last, years ago, they were filming a Taco Bell commercial with the most famous rocks behind the shot. I wondered about all the cactuses scattered around. It seemed odd that they only grew in pots... But cactus wasn't actually native to the area, so they were brought in to make the shot look more "authentic."

Actually, I had no idea what the actual episode looked like with the Gorns... it was just a guess! I just drew the rocks from what I remembered of the Garden of the Gods and a small image of the Gorn I found on Google. In any case, I was going for dramatic over canon, so if I was even close I'm happy ;)
