Those who don't know about Amanda's upbringing often question her carrying around that big ol' wrench of hers, but even with the problems it can present (it's heavy, needs to be polished regularly, and don't even get started on the whole magnetic thing) it can have its advantages... like, say, if some wiseguy Electric-type decides he's going to fire off a Thunderbolt at a teammate who's not paying attention. That's when it really comes in handy, as when her Lightningrod ability kicks in it attracts the electricity towards that wrench... instead of, say, directly into her face. It also retains a bit of the charge for a short while, so when she goes in to retaliate with a Thunder Punch of her own, it gives it a little more potency.

Supposedly it's also really good for smacking folks around with too. Who'd a thunk it?
