The 315 has stopped to top off its boiler from the Plasticville water tower. You can see the Pennsylvania Rail Road and American Flyer logos painted on the tender.
This 4-6-2 steam locomotive was manufactured in 1952, but is a new addition to my set. I was very pleased to get it from a former collector. I was even more pleased when it fired up immediately for me, happily puffing smoke as it circled my layout.
My toy train set, an S-gauge American Flyer, has been in my family since 1951. The Plasticville houses also date back to the 1950s. My dad used to set it up for Christmas every year and I'm trying to keep that tradition alive.
