What's the difference between scifi and fantasy? Scifi uses tech in place of the magic, which makes it still cool!

Sci-fi is usually based (sometimes very loosely) on pre-existing rules of science and nature. Fantasy has the freedom to make whatever they want to up, because ~magic~ . Sometimes they can read similar, but I've always vastly preferred sci-fi stuff to fantasy, myself.

I can understand that. Though I'm strange. I love to apply physics to magical powers. Imagine if you could manipulate gravity? You could warp space time and be anywhere you want to be, or cause someones hair to become so heavy their skull caves in

Magic CAN also be based in actual physical laws, and that's always interesting to me. It's just that it seems to happen less often because it's not always important.

Yeah, people are more wanting to just be lazy 'It's magic, so it doesn't have to obey the laws of physics" where in the back of my mind. If they did. It'd make magic all the more dangerous because it can bend the laws, not outright shatter them
