This is a very cheap and easy Christmas treat to make for your loved ones around the holidays.
What You'll Need:
-1 box (12 oz) of Chex Cereal (any Chex will do, but I used Chocolate Chex for double chocolate flavor)
-1 cup chocolate chips
-1/2 cup peanut butter (smooth)
-1/3 cup butter
-1 tsp vanilla extract
-2 cups powdered sugar
-2 cups mini hard pretzels
-2 cups Christmas M&M's
-1 large mixing bowl
-1 rubber frosting spatula
-1 extra large ziplock bag (big enough to hold steaks)
-1 large microwavable measuring cup
Step 1:
Pour the Chex into the large bowl and set aside for now.
Step 2:
Take the measuring cup, add the butter, chocolate, and peanut butter then microwave on high for 1 minute. Stir and continue heating for another 30 seconds. Remove from microwave, add the vanilla extract and mix well.
Step 3:
Pour mixture over the cereal and stir with spatula to evenly distribute.
Step 4:
In the ziplock bag, add the cereal mixture to it then pour in the powdered sugar. Seal the bag and shake to evenly distribute. Pour the mixture back into the bowl when finished.
Step 5:
Add the pretzels and M&M's. Mix well and serve.

I saw it on Facebook, which seems to be it's only good use at this point. It might have actually been one of your posts or maybe it was moms, I can't remember. But yeah, using it as a gift is what I'm doing too. Matter of fact, I gave a box of it to my mom as an early Christmas present. She took it to work and said that I need to make 100 more because everyone in her office wanted some. Definitely not going to make 100 more, but at some point I'll make another batch before Christmas. Maybe try for a cinnamon or white chocolate version next time.
This stuff is SOOOOO tasty! It's practically addictive.
Vrghr makes this too, but called it "Puppy Chow" when wuffy did it.
Didn't use the M&Ms in that version, but added mini marshmallows instead.
A tip, if you add the pretzels before you add the heated chocolate/peanut butter, they become very tasty chocolate-covered pretzels with the rest of the mix.
And you're right - this would make LOVELY gifts! Or just a bowl for snacking with friends, and a cup of hot chocolate, on Christmas Eve!
