I'm usually not much for commenting on this sort of thing, nor am I overly knowledgeable about this character or setting.
I just wanted to add that to bring death to one of the 'fair folk', one only needs a weapon of iron (which was sometimes poetically called 'cold iron', leading to some confusion nowadays). While hard to come by nowadays, it's not entirely impossible and iron knife replicas can be purchased on websites like Etsy for surprisingly cheap. Though I'd also suppose it depends on how much the 'mythos' of a setting is based off of folklore, and what culture's folklore. X3

Granted, the iron burns and can wound the fae, but it doesn't defend against magical attacks. You would need more protection if you wanted to take that route and kill a faerie, but to do so is no light thing, and you will have to be ready to bear the consequences of those actions, unless the faerie was the one to hurt you first for no just reason. Then, by faerie law, you have the right to take revenge. In this case, he has the right to challenge Moth for the return of Lottie, because she did no wrong, and was innocent, so on those grounds, he can argue/fight for her release, but as for the rest, I don't know if the rest of the Fae would consider it fair or right, should he kill her.
*nods* Yeah, it always depends on the culture they're based from. In some cultures iron horseshoes were considered protection against the fair folk. X3
Having read a bit about the darker side of the fair folk, it's hard to trust them. There are some who's views of the world are so warped they think ripping someone's head off and replacing it with a wooden one is pulling a prank on the person.
Admittedly it depends on the individual, for while the fair folk do have rules... interpretation and adherence is a very personal thing. Much like human society there are always those who bend, break, and flat out ignore the rules if they think they can get away with it. All the same, this is interesting, though I really ought to read more of what's going on before I comment too much on it. :D

You'd have to ask Dearshul about that one. But really, if there is a just case, a human can invoke the faerie law and have a trial either by the high magics, or by a higher fearie authority figure, like Oberon or Titania, assuming they're still the king and queen of the Fearie courts.
Henry: That all makes sense, I guess. But Moth is still underhanded. I wouldn't be surprised if she had someone hurt Lottie for her. I wonder if there's a loophole like that. I'd ask Azura, the one other fairy I've met, but she'd probably bite my head off about it. I don't think she likes me very much.
Henry: She has no reason to be afraid of me, I don't think. I'm at her mercy at the moment... and I think worse than donkey ears would happen to me if I crossed her. She's been moody lately. Medoro said it was something to do with magic sickness or something. I'm not quite sure what that means but I imagine it isn't anything good.
I don't know. I just bumped into her one day. She's nice enough once you get to know her. She's just faced a lot of heartache. That, along with the type of sickness you mentioned, might be affecting her psyche in a negative way. Magic does that sometimes.

You say she knew, but, as far as I can tell, Moth's not the type to do something like that. If she knew you were cheating on your wife, and that you wanted to make it a one time thing, then she was probably doing one of two things. One, she was testing the waters to see if you would be able to be added to her . . . I don't know what the term is. Group of significant others? Menagerie of transformed men? Something else? I'll have to ask her about it some time. I don't want to get it wrong. The other possibility is that you reminded her of someone who mistreated, hurt, or betrayed her at one point when she didn't have the power to stop it. Those kinds of acts tend to leave a mark.
Personally, I'm inclined to believe she didn't know at first. I think it was later on that she found out the truth, when she asked you some questions that you weren't willing to answer honestly. Granted, I can't exactly claim a moral high ground either. I have my flaws, and I have my addictions that I struggle with. I don't exactly approve of her methods for teaching you a lesson, either. Just let me tell you, as a recovering addict, Henry, you got off lucky. That one fling could have easily turned into another, and another, and another, until you broke Lottie's heart beyond your ability to repair. I know. I've heard the stories from men who let it get that far. And I'll tell you right now, once you start something like that, it's very hard to stop. A first cigarette, a first hit of heroine, first puff of meth, the list goes on. The point is, all of them give intense pleasure, and that makes them addicting. If Moth hadn't stopped you, it's quite possible you may have eventually lost all feeling for Lottie, and seen her as nothing more than an old broken sex toy to cast aside when you've gotten tired of holding onto it.
I'm sorry for being so blunt with you, but I had to speak my mind. Be angry, if you want. I'm just telling you the fruits of what I've seen, and a small piece of what I've experienced myself in life. *sighs*

Henry: *tension giving way to defeat* You're right about what I did. It was stupid and probably would have led to worse. I was in the wrong, and part of me is glad that the cycle was stopped before it could really get going. But why she chose me, why she couldn't have just set some magical therapist on me or something, I don't get. That's why I'm angry. Why the hell did she get involved? And then she kidnaps my wife because she can't stand the thought of us together. Who does that?!
And, just so I'm clear, she knew about me being married when we first started talking at the bar. She asked me about my ring, I told her that I was married but I was willing to fool around. You can distrust me all you like, but...*gestures to self* No new donkey parts. Why get involved with me when she knew that there was baggage if she wanted more than a one night stand?
I'm a jackass, obviously, but she did some stupid things, too. If she wasn't ready to have someone and let go, she shouldn't have stuck around and had more drinks. That's on her. If she was going to be bothered that I was married, she shouldn't have followed me to that hotel. That's on her, too. I might be a liar, but I didn't lie to her about those things.
*crosses his arms and mutters* This whole damn mess is her fault. *fingers suddenly fuse into hooves and his ring goes skittering across the ground* Argh! Really?! Hyperboles aren't allowed either?

That kind of magic is usually quite literal. *picks up the ring for Henry* As for the other things, if that's the case, then Moth may be worse off than I thought. *sighs* She could be at risk of becoming unseelie, or worse. *a tear runs down my cheek* To turn a powerful light to evil deeds can cause immense magical upheaval, Henry. Someone might be manipulating her behind the scenes for their own benefit. And if they succeed, then I say this as a sincere prayer. God help us all.
Henry: *struggles to balance the ring between his hooves* I'm not sure there was ever light in her the way she's ruined my life and, apparently, others. I don't know much about magic, though. Maybe there's something else. But right now I don't care. Lottie could be in real danger and I'm more concerned about her than the psycho faerie that took her.
Henry: *an ear swinging forward* Not as far as I know. She is very different from the fairy tale. Maybe time has changed her, I don't know, but she doesn't much care about Lottie either. From what we've been able to figure out, Lottie is bait for me. She's banking on me wanting to save my wife, which I do.
Hmm. I wonder . . . Medoro is the one with a temper, but he's very sincere as well. You've got the snark, but you're also a really caring individual who would sacrifice most anything for the people he loves. Could it be she's . . .? No, she wouldn't try that. Not after what happened last time she meddled with those forces. She couldn't . . . could she?
I'm praying my mind is just being paranoid, Henry. But if her mind does get affected enough, she might actually try it. *Sighs* When you bake a cake or a cookie, Henry, you need certain ingredients, right? A teaspoon of that, two cupfuls of this, etc. Now think of magic in a similar way. Sometimes, to get what you want, you need the proper ingredients, or, in your case, the proper attributes.
Deep within the thralls of fae, where light and dark are thrown in fray, beware the maids that call thee friend, else journey will come to untimely end. Seek that pathline to the shore, and find the three shells of pearlish sire, then trade for fare that you desire. And if you stand in need of defense, seek holy medals from the pool of the blessed. But only one will go with thee. Beware the curse that comes with greed. At last you must come to cursed shores of the isle of lost ones, broke down and forlorn. What fate is there t'will fall thee next? Tis thy bed to make, and they fate to rest. *Pants and falls back against the stool* Woah.
*gives a formal bow* Acrathia. Dark Lady of the Sidhe, Senichal of the Gloamoring Court , etc etc. Oh and don't worry
darling I wouldn't dream of interfering with Lady Moth's curse. To attempt to alter another fae's curse is considered morbidly rude at best, or an out right declaration of war at worst. Furthermore why would I? The curse is perfect the way it is. The more you lie the more of a jackass you become! Oh it's exquisite!

*stares at Henry as though she cannot believe what she is hearing, then starts laughing hysterically* You have just come off the bad end of a bargain with a fae, and you are now ready to make another one! *laughs hysterically more* You are too much mortal! *regains composure* I promise to listen, nothing more, after all I don't know how Lady Moth would take to me making a bargain with one of her charges, I would hate to do anything to jeopardize our budding friendship.
Henry: *backpedaling in embarrassment* I didn't make any bargain with her. She decided to punish me. And-and you aren't the only other fae I've come in contact with. There's one that's actually willing to help me, and I thought perhaps you might be the same. I was going to see if you'd be willing to help me understand Moth a little more, but if you two are friends maybe that isn't such a great idea.
Ahhh yes Azura I believe she is called. Needless to say she is Seelie thus her knowledge of how we Unseelie operate would be limited at best. As for direct information I have about Lady Moth, that would definately be a violation of our new found friendship. Now if it is information on how the Unseelie do things...then I might be willing to oblige.
Money may have value to mortals and dragons, but it means little to us. My price is simple darling you will head to San Fransico there you will find a new age shop run by a woman named Cassandra. Give her this ring.and this letter *holds both up* do this for me and any debt between us is settled.
What it is, is none of your concern. The ring will not effect you in anyway if that is what you are worried about, the letter is for her eyes only so DO NOT OPEN IT! If you succeed in your adventure I expect you to deliver this as soon as it is possible. If you do not succeed then the information I provided you was obviously of no help, thus the contract is void. Now do we have a deal?
*gives him a smirk* That would fall under her personal information darling, assuming i even knew. As for why a fae would take someone that isn't directly involved with a contract is ...unusual. A fae's motivation could vary from fae to fae, jealosy, a disire to commiserate, if it were me it would be a test to see how truly important she is to you.
As you wish darling, *rolls her eyes* and since I seem to be playing the role of everyone's codependent life coach as of late i will leave you with some advice. As i said before I don't know what Lady Moth's intentions are in all of this, but if I were the one doing this it would be my intention for you to grow from this. *looks him squarely in the eye* Stop being a jackass Henry and start being a man. *turns and walks away, as she does she evaporates into black and indigo mist*
... Dearshul, I just realized something about this comic. You showed in other pictures that even figurative lies that are meant for sarcasm or insults also cause Henry to experience a change, and yet he hasn't in this frame. Does that mean he really is speaking the truth, and that Moth really is, in fact "a heartless, crazy, spell-hurling sadist"?
