I don't know Growly personally and have only seen them during this one instance so this comment confuses me as I have no context. I haven't been active on the furry con scene until recently

Growly is a registered sex offender who has been banned at 4 cons. Not to mention his suit looks like it hasn't been cleaned since he got it....

Oh god...I honestly had no idea. That's so bad and i'm shocked that he wasn't banned from anthro since they're supposed to be super family oriented x.x
Seriously thank you for letting me know. Me and my friends (mainly the photographer who took this picture) are kinda new to furry cons as we tend to go to anime/comic cons.
I try not to think that there are people like that lurking around

But hey, don't let that get you down about furry cons. Honestly, they're some of the most fun parts of the fandom

Second, if you want to PM me, what actually happened? People get on the registry for really dumb shit, some people belong on it and some it's BS.

Very true. On that note I'd like to have one final thing to say on this subject:

I don't wish there to be controversy on this picture...but when that prior comment was pointed out to me about him being "a sex offender" made me feel rather uneasy. He didn't seem bad in person, but what do I really know. I hope in a way for it to not be true regardless of any circumstances surrounding him. In a way I want to look into it so i'm not ignorant, but in the end of the day it's not my life so it's really none of my business.

I'd rather know the true story to this issue so I don't have any unjust opinions on Growly. I do understand people get on the registry for stupid reasons...I've seen a lot of various stories/cases.
If anyone has the entire details to this and wishes to share i'd like to know. (note me)
I've only ever gone to 2 furry conventions in my many years of going to comic/anime cons. If the beware is warranted then fine, but if not I'd rather not be given slander/bs as truths.

Hey so...I'm sorry for most likely bringing up a really dead conversation, but I think its worth mentioning that Growly was not Registered for stupid reasons.

He was Registered for child exploitation, which is to say very nicely, that he is a pedophile.

I am unsure how old this conversation is, but Growly attended a big con this year (2019), and sometime after the con, he was evicted again for something involving a minor as well, most likely it happened at this con too, where many minors were present. I do not know the details because I think its private information other than the fact he was sent to prison.

I stumbled upon this photo via a friend who was trying go find me a Charizard suite I saw, and I realize this could be a 3 year old conversation. And I'm glad to see that someone called out Growly here, because it wasn't until I noticed he was in this photo that I got an uneasy feeling.

But it's very safe to say that Growly is a pedophilia, a convicted one at that, twice now, each conviction was years apart, and the old argument for him was that he may have changed, but he showed this year that he clearly did not.

As a fellow pokemon furry I'm glad to see so many pokemon suits in this photo.

But I have good suspicion to suspect that Growly uses his pokemon fursuit (which is a Growlithe, a "cute and innocent" pokemon at that) to lure minors to abuse them.

Pokemon is, at its core, a series aimed at children. And although I believe that it's perfectly okay to be an adult into pokemon (I am 21, and I know people older than me who still love it), people like Growly set a VERY bad example.

Again, sorry for bringing this up on a 3 year old FA post, but this is something I had to reply to.

He also caused a huge uproar this year as well for being allowed to attend a big convention.

And the con said they cannot/will not discriminate for reasons like that, as per the state laws.

Growly was FRONT AND CENTER of said Con's group photo, which was a huge middle finger basically because of the fact he was allowed to literally be the center of attention in the photo.

I found it extremely coincidental that he is front and center in this photo as well.

It's OK. Hindsight is 20/20 and I wish I had known more at the time. I have been following all the current events surrounding them and it's not good to say the least. (You have it very well pin pointed)
I just want to make sure it's understood that previously I was in the dark and this photo was taken at my very first anthrocon. So I didn't realize what was happening by letting them participate in the photos/shoot we just spontaneously put together)
The best I can do at this venture is blur them out but yeah.

I did really appreciate the info share. It's good to have that in the conversation now that there's so many details avaliable.
