Maaan, I wish I could work on a DS like yourself. You're amazing dude, and this is some great story telling. Do you ever post up your stuff in www.collectingsmiles.com/colors ?
Reason why I ask is because I'm super interested in your process. You do such elaborate paintings all of the time, and I want to know how long it takes you and how you started out as a student so I can pick up some important information from an expert like yourself.
Like do you think of structure, or blocking in shapes while you paint?

Very, very useful to know your process, because I'm going through a plateau in my artistic career in forcing myself to learn value and color through structure and figure drawing, rather than just throwing in globs of color because it looks nice. Light is difficult.
How do you go about using color or thinking about light logic? Do you search for understanding the structure, and then apply the lighting properties?

Wow, yeah, I thought so, because usually to have such a talent requires really studying all of the technical skills needed to pull everything off with purpose.
Aaah I also see. I thought this was fairly quick, like an hour or so and it makes me wet my pants every time I see something from you. Painting must require a lot of patience and problem solving though to understand where your structure is going on in the paper. And of course you must've taken a lot of figure drawing classes. I still need to understand certain parts of the body more thoroughly, especially the legs, back, and forearms somewhat. The triceps a bit more too.
I know this guy who is a painter too that goes to my figure drawing class that goes by the name of Stanislov. One of the most amazing artists I have ever met, and he was in a group of people in Russia with some of the most talented drawings I have ever seen.
I don't know if I'll ever be able to achieve some of the skill you guys have, no matter how much I grow, but I'll keep on learning.

It's important with some foot massage, the wooden boards can quickly transform your skin under the feet to the ones the hobbits have. Are the seagulls in the sky hoping they are next to get some foot massage? Seagulls really are demanding. And self-centered, just like they were in Finding Nemo. No foot massage for them.
