This actually was a thing in one of the Spellsinger novels, when the protagonists visited a version of Brigadoon. They found a store with everything in the multiverse, run by anthropomorphic kangaroo with something unseen in her pouch.

The villain caught up with them. Stuff got wrecked. The proprietor demanded payment for damages. The villain told her to suck eggs.

She opened her pouch.

What came out was not precisely a genie so much as a djinni, as in, a demon. And it was pissed. The villain decided a hasty retreat was in order. Being a literal weasel, he figured speed and dexterity would save him.

He managed two steps.

Then the still-angry djinn turned to the protagonists...

Somehow, Blue Roo and Snooth have a lot in common. Certainly similar attitudes. ^.^

I kinda knew, somehow, that this had been thought of before!
