Max's mom is... very uptight, and never really had any faith in him, lazy as he was. After some years not speaking to her, he decides to show up with his new family. Needless to say, she's speechless (she is petty and views this as success, and because she never had high hopes for him, she can't reconcile this new family of his). Max isn't certain how to explain the specifics of his family, but it gets him back in his mom's favor.

Like Max, she also hasn't evolved, but it's by choice/belligerence rather than laziness.

Since I drew a thing with Hertz's parents, I had to do one with Max's. Well, IDK where his dad is. I'll bet he took off a long time ago.
