When the Devil is too busy
And Death's a bit too much...
To the gentlemen, I'm Miss Fortune;
To the ladies, I'm Sir Prize.
But call me by any name,
Anyway, it's all the same.
I'm the fear that keeps you awake;
I'm the shadows on the wall;
I'm the monsters they become;
I'm the nightmare in your skull;
I'm a dagger in your back;
An extra turn on the rack;
I'm the quivering of your heart;
A stabbing pain, a sudden start;
And it's so easy when you're evil;
This is the life, you see;
The Devil tips his hat to me.
I do it all because I'm evil
And I do it all for free.
Your tears are all the pay I'll ever need.

Thanks. I used a lot of lore as well as the dev blogs and various portraits that show off their personalities in coming up with the idea. (For example, I added the Disfavored salute to give Barik a little more personality.) In-game, they fit in perfectly--shame that unlike POE their portraits aren't always seen.
Also, you'll probably enjoy these too: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/20764543/ and http://www.furaffinity.net/view/17769807/

Game could have been marginally longer as well and yes the portraits not getting shown at times was a bit of a bummer. Then again the length of the game is compensated by the different paths you can take, so at least there is replayability value there. Actually purchased POE after really enjoying Tyranny, so that's something fer me to experience later this year or the next.
And yees the POE icons look really fun. Never played Wasteland 2 though but I can imagine the icons are close to the ones in that. Great work.

I have about 80 hours of Tyranny versus my 140 hours of POE, so I really can't complain when I still desire to play both games, especially on the POTD difficulty. These games out of all others I have played get more entertaining when you have real challenge. (Wish I could say the same for Baldur's Gate but fuck THA0C0.)
Some things I think you'll really enjoy that were somewhat watered down in Tyranny:
- Choose your own adventure scenes that use your stats. In Tyranny, you used Athletics, Subterfuge, etc. for conversations or those intractable moments; in POE these are more story based with audio/visual cues to make them feel like an audiobook.
- Better class synergy and class variety with a party of six.
- Armor system is more nuanced and simple to understand. You balance Recovery Rate from +60% to +30% with Protection from 0 to 14.
- If you don't have the DLC, the experience is around 50/60 hours. With the DLC, the game will probably take you 70 to 80 hours.
- Lots of lots of lore to read. It's highly important as I discovered the game's theme and predicted what would happen around the 10/12 hour mark.

Also, I am really curious where they intend to go with Tyranny because the ending is almost too versatile in all the many outcomes. It feels like from the ending slides for companions they won't show up in a sequel, though maybe in an expansion for mid-game points of the game. Personally, I liked the ambiguity of the ending vs. the complete disillusionment of POE for its ending.
Oh same. I mean I can clearly see that there are ingredients there for another story, if not for a third one even. Tiers is, after all, an extremely small part of the entire continent / world that we see in the trailers and intro cinematic. They also mentioned that there are plenty of other Spires as well, and that's something that I feel could have played a larger role in Tyranny. Like perhaps have one or two more chapters where the Spires and your edicts play a massive role other than scaring Kyros with a single one.
Ooh sounds very nice. Not sure if I purchased the DLC or not from the Steam Autumn Sale but if I didn't, well. I'm fairly certain I will in another sale. Obsidian and Paradox make literal magic happen.
And I absolutely enjoy games with lots of lore to read. Dishonored games, Witcher games, Tyranny, aaanything that has a lot of lore and stuff to read is immediately in my list of games that I most certainly will enjoy. At least to some degree. Can't remember a lot of lore games that would have disappointed on that front at least.
