Finally finished! This piece has been in the works for months now, it seems. I finally found the time to finish it up.

The background was a bit of a challenge. At first I wanted to just fo a plain subdued gradient because I had soent so much time with the details of the shading in the clothing and hair etc., I didn't want anything overpowering. But I really felt that it needed something else.

I was inspired by older Japanese prints. I chose one in particular. I have to give them full credit for the linework.. I changed the colours quite a bit, but it is heavily based on this image by <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hirosh.....ot;>Utagawa Hiroshige</a>. I also used some nifty textures from <a href="http://www.cgtextures.com">.....s.com</a>;, all free and very helpful, and a large variety as well.

I will have large scale prints of this available at both Anthrocon and Anime North. (12 x 18 or 11 x 17 whichever works out better!)
