well you would expect some mental breakdown to accompany her circumstances, and the comment about risky maneuvers implies a lack of foresight to the consequences of concern for self preservation, perhaps other factors, but I currently lack the brainpower to discern them.

This was a quick change of pace. I like how it went from the last chapter to this one. It's actually showing Lisitza/Fox's struggle between his long running enemy and rival. I happened to think it was entertaining due to the colorful banter in between the both of them and Lis having to pretend that Fox, her "husband" was dead. I'll say this, Wolf was unusually tame here, but I believe that would be honorably so. I figure if Fox really was dead, then it would be in poor taste to show up just to heckle his wife. That.. I call good writing.
Of course, this didn't stop him from tooting his own horn after all. (The part about Fox never being able to admit Wolf was the better pilot. I figure anyone who's seen the movie Top Gun would expect this.) And in what I would happen to call "traditional" fashion does Fox, now a woman, STILL get to show Wolf up yet again. And therein lies the chapter.
The most of this was more or less describing actions taken by the planes, which was good as it didn't involve too much dialogue. I don't think people really exchange witty banter when flipping around another aircraft and trying to outrun them, even in a mock battle. But it was pretty well played how you managed to convey that. And moreso with Wolf at the end actually scolding her for being reckless. I think that's rival's honor. Even though Wolf was Fox's opposition, he thought he was dead now, and didn't want the same to happen to his wife. And even though it was just a single line, it still stands out when you think about the circumstances it was said and Wolf's character.
And it's moments like that which still keep me reading along~
