Ooo what kinda tricks? If I may ask. I would love to draw rain more often

in photoshop if you make a dot, then apply the motion blur effect to it, you get anything from a snow flake to a drizzle raindrop, to a fast rain drop. make lots of them and you have a rain shower. adding a soft airbrush 'glow' to any surface that is getting rain hitting it (like the top of an umbrella) and it looks like when the raindrops hit and bounce, like a mist. throw in some little solid dots to really sell the idea. There's obviously more you can do but those two tricks really make it look like it's raining.
