You see, whenever someone asks me a question like this, I get... somewhat puzzled.
To me, latex is just another form of fabric, no different to say, cotton, demin, or fake fur.
Sometimes I don't really understand why latex must "automatically" be linked to fetish.
Sure, to many it might be "fetish wear", but then again you can say a fur fursuit is also... "fetish wear" as well.
Friend of mine actually e-mailed MFF convention security to make some clarifications on the rules. We were pretty much told that:
"As long as it's not showing any obvious bulges (of genitalia) or any obvious zippers on skin-tight clothing, use "common sense" approach regarding costuming in the general convention areas"
I always make sure any of my "public going" outfits are tasteful and adhere within the spirit of the rules, and get extremely frustrated when cons/events starts to arbitrarily impose restrictions on certain types of fabric/material (latex in this case).
As to your question, I worn the above outfit from around 3pm in the afternoon, until around 2am that evening, and not once have I been approached by convention security... or anyone for that matter with an objection to what I was wearing.
Then again Midwest FurFest has been one of the more "liberal and embracing/inclusive" convention I've been to.
Whether or not they (MFF) deem this (the rubber Gazelle outfit) to be "fetish wear", I couldn't answer that question for you.

Ok, first of all, I need to say I completely agree with you, but I've been corrected so many times that latex suits are not allowed to be worn in several cons until after 6pm and are considered fetish wears. A few of my friends think the same way as well, I actually got into a very serious argument with one of him a while back on the exact question.
I myself own a couple of latex suits and all sorts of gears, and I make sure that if I wear them in public, I always look somewhat elegant and not just for NSFW purposes, like you said, cover up the zippers and not have too much hidden sexual suggestions.
I apologize if I offended you with my wording, it's just I've been corrected so many times and I hate confrontations, I don't know your views on them so I just went with that.
Again, I agree with you and I feel extremely embarrassed combined with the experience of the last time we talked under your other post, so I'll leave you be in your future posts.

There's no need for apologies, and you did NOT offend me at all! :)
I am simply voicing my own opinion here and sharing it.
As for certain conventions that you mentioned about "latex/fetish-wear" and what their rules are on, yes I know which ones (conventions) you are talking about, as I have been to those as well.
In which case, I simply adhere to THEIR rules as after-all, it is a private event and people can make up whatever rules they want, and would rather not get into a needless argument and enjoy that convention in other ways instead ;)
