This piece done by the ever wonderful
Orphen-Sirius which was a surprise gift art that absolutely made my day.
It includes some of my very favorite things to do during the winter, those being relaxing by a nice fire, enjoying a warm beverage (hot chocolate in this case), and wearing hoodies.
I know there are other things that I need to post, several illustrations that I have plans for writing a story for, or have started writing for, or have produced a rough draft for, but for not that is on hold. Life is ... difficult ... right now, including a problem that occurred within the organization that has brought a great deal of uncertainty into my life, and I hold a great deal of concern for what the next few months hold. I can't really be more specific, except by providing the old Army adage: "As a Commander, everything that your Company is a success and FAILS to do is your responsibility," and I'm feeling the truth of that expression right now. Dealing with the two major issues within the organization, as well as the slew of other things that need to be dealt with upon our return from Korea has utterly sapped my energy and creativity, and right now I just feel numb, hollow even. Hopefully this will pass soon, but, without knowing the end state of these things, it'll be probably.
I just post this piece because it was a wonderful reprieve and bright spot in what has been one of the most difficult weeks I've had in years, and I'm incredibly grateful to
Orphen-Sirius for this beautiful piece.
