Every so often I can snag one of these great pics in the midst of a squawk...
You can see how the tongue is almost barbed in a way, so that it fits into the roof of the mouth when flying. It directs the air down to the lungs more efficiently or something.
Oh, and his eyeridge... and me in his eye. X>

Oh is this cool it shows internal Air flow direction and did you know that a bird.s lungs are static and the Air sacks have the Ability to expand in flight delivering more Oxygen to the muscles and brain prevents blackouts and red outs that Humans experience while piloting an Aircraft. and allows the bird to be fully Oxygenated at High Altitudes
Nice reflection looks like a Guy waring a Helmet and a safety vest
Ok I get it you were too close to there nest and this one decided to give you what for huh?

*chuckles* Someone that knows some stuff about birds, hurrah!
But that fellow in the reflection is me, in my work stuff at the landfill I was working at. And this harris hawk is Nakai, an imprinted, trained bird that was my co-worker at the landfill. Together, we would chase away other birds like seagulls and ravens, to encourage those local populations to find cleaner, healthier food sources than the garbage.

this is going to stop Once they put that Plasco Generator in they will run out of a food source because it will be used to make Power and Heat homes.
this is such a cool technology one big plant could run the Hole City forever.... just feed it our municipal wast and that is it....
