Well after surfing 'round wikifur reading about all the conventions around the world I noticed there was no big convention in asia. Europe has one (Eurofurence) N. America has at least six as well as the biggest of them all (Anthrocon) but Asia doesn't seem to have any at all. So here's my idea for effectively an Asian Anthrocon : Masifcon

Masifcon stands for Malaysia and Singapore International Furry CONvention and would be a big-scale furry convention for all asian furs since cons on N. America and Europe are generally VERY expensive to travel to (unless you take AirAsia, but that's suicidal for long-distance). It would also serve the Australian furs as it's within reach for them. If I could start it, I think it could work since Malaysia and Singapore are already big tourist destinations and it would bring even more tourists. The furs could also experience the cultures of the two countries.

My idea was thatg it could be held annually but alternate betwen Malaysia and Singapore, being held in the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre in KL and the Suntec Singapore International Convention & Exhibition Centre in Singapore. If the event grew large enough, it could held twice yearly: One in April in Malaysia and one in September in Singapore.

If this actually took off, one big thing that would happen at the opening ceremonies would be that all attendants would be in a big hall and would stand while the anthems of Singapore and Malaysia (order depending on which host is it) while the flags are raised behind the speaker on flagpoles complete with artificial wind just like the Beijing Games opening ceremonies. That would be a very important thing to do for me.

If I become a successful entrepeneur, I would seriously do this as a business venture. I see a big investment potential for this
