Designated THR-SU//K71/51, Iveon is a part mechanical, part magical being hailing from his unnamed world inhabited by Teknos, machines taking on various shapes. His race, Drakkid, resemble western dragons, although more Tek races exist. Average in numbers, Drask are characterised by their individual strength.
Like all Teks, they each begin their life in a Furnace, one of several mysterious artifacts Teks believe were sent down by their god a long time ago. Furnace flames consume raw materials, and depending on who had handled them before, different outcomes take place. The result is always unimpressive at first, a small version of what they can potentially become. Their specialties, personality, connections and such are often borrowed from the "parent" unit, but as time goes on, their physical frame can change. Teks grow by consuming metals, with the oldest ones being as big as a mountain. Their natural affinity for electronics also gives them the ability to quickly analyze anything of such nature, even letting them absorb data stored on devices, including other Teks. A rule of thumb is the older a Tek, the bigger, stronger and faster they are, with oldest acting as massive command centers. Drakkid whelplings are merely jet black constructs, protected only by a flexible composite armor covering almost all of their body. Later, they will end up changing their bodies to perform their assigned roles better, like in Iveon's case.
The magical part of Teks is restricted almost fully to one part, the reactor. This is what their spirits are bound to and this is where the most basic thinking takes place. As long as this is intact, a Teknos cannot die. These intangible entities are what make Teks a bit more than just machines. Although their circuits forbid them from turning on their own, the spirits give them some individuality and freedom in achieving their goals. In some rare cases, the strength of a spirit was reported to be strong enough to power a frame that should've been long destroyed, which always happened while under extreme stress or similar emotion. They're all connected to their god, which they believe resides on the moon of their planet. This connection augments the effects of some of their gear, especially the kind that technically shouldn't work, like wings especially. Their belief is that once only one race is remaining, that yet unnamed deity will present itself to those it deems worthy. Such curiosity is universal among Teks and they'll all greedily hoard all kinds of information, as long as they think it's useful and even if it means fighting.
Iveon is an SU, Support Unit, basically an engineer. Since Teks are machines, that translates into an equivalent of a medic. Depending on the situation, it can be either very easy, like replacing a few broken parts, or very hard, like replacing half of a frame. All Teks have Forges built into their reactors. SU Forges are much better than regular and they allow SUs to break down any kind of material into "omnimass" they store, and later use to construct or repair things, including each other. That's what Ive does most often, hanging back behind his tougher friends. Because his survival depends on theirs, and vice versa, Iveon's frame boasts a cloaking system he himself designed at one point of his over century long life, using scavenged parts. It's not perfect, but messes with most sensors well enough. Speaking of which, Iveon's armor actually has millions of microscopic ports through which sensors observe the area in all directions. The same ports are used by constructed nanomachines to leave him and perform precise operations outside. Despite that, the plating is tough enough to withstand a few hard hits, something he's not supposed to do anyways. Most vital spots are covered, but the weight is also somewhat restricting. The THR- part of the designation is a Drakkid name for the alloy he's made of. Because it can give away weaknesses, it's never printed on the frame. Iveon's body is very heat resistant, but also happens to be a mild ferromagnetic, exposing him to common magnetic weaponry. Circuits buried beneath armor are all protected from surges. all Teks eventually install such protection on their own due to each being unique.
For self defence, Iveon has only his own tail, claws and the tool hidden in his mouth. A combination of a flamethrower/plasma cutter, normally used to remove obstacles, is also very effective at punching holes in others' armor. The flamethrower itself can launch chemicals other than just flammable, making it a potentially extremely versatile weapon. Although the heat doesn't melt bigger Teks right away, it quickly builds up and stays on their metal bodies. If anything heat sensitive happens to be there, it ends up literally toast that way. From circuitry, to ammunition in some cases, heat is dangerous to all Teks. The tail tip is unarmored and normally used to grab things, but is hard and pointy enough to poke holes in exposed segments and the mass of the plating on the rest of the length can easily knock one off balance.
Comparatively, Iveon isn't too strong, but being an SU he's always needed. He's only a step above a whelpling, but has had a few chances to prove himself. He inherited a lot of data when his parent unit was destroyed in combat, so even though he doesn't fight directly often, he has experience. From the same source, he also found out who delivered the final blow. On the last few frames recorded, the designation was caught and saved. Tracking that Teknos down is a mission he gave himself, but can't put before given orders. Maybe one day...
For now his low rank has him being directed to different places very often, not always where he'd like to be.
Ash covered the skies completely, guaranteeing that nothing would swoop down from above. Dim light was nothing for the electronic eye, quietly whirring as it scanned the horizon. Both sides were using signal lights, yet at this distance the Diolis were still invisible. Nothing in sight, but they were definitely there.
Iveon had a feeling something was going to happen soon. Not sure what, but it was going to be big...
