Endless Realms advanced player race - Tropical Silean
Player artwork for Endless Realms, a D&D-like "pen and paper" fantasy RPG I'm working for. These are the so-called advanced races, which are subspecies of the core 9 races to be released in their own separate advanced races books.
For this one, I was asked to create a vibrant tropical subspecies of Silean. At first, we tried going with semi-aquatic crocodilian inspiration, resulting in short, thickly-built "crorcs" I called them :b (the art director thought they looked like Bowser) but supposedly no one liked 'em, so we decided to stick more or less to the original Silean build. Vibrantly coloured for their toxicity, but with additional chameleon-like colour-changing capabilities, the tropical Sileans are smaller than their cousins, but are skilled climbers and ambush hunters - the pads on their fingers and toes help them to adhere to their perches, and their tail is prehensile. My gargoyle gecko even has a "sticky" tip at the end of his tail to help him better grab things with it - I wonder if these guys have them, too?
