You knew it would happen, in the corner of your mind. You created a wind-up dragon because you thought it would be adorable. Metal and watch parts and gears and springs and lots of frustration went into it.
You used the wizard's Magick Dust that you ordered out of the back of that old comic book, mainly as a joke because obviously it isn't real, but something squirmed in the back of your brain, something like hope.
You woke up the next morning and there he was, clinking and clanking and whirring cutely across your desk. The perfect little companion for holding your pens as you study, marking your place in your books.
What you didn't count on was that he'd never have to sleep, so he'd go out wandering when you didn't need his help. And today, he came back with a rather... large gear.
He wants you to build him a big brother... and you know it won't end there.
