Incomplete old sketch but I´m carring it since a lot in the conventions in my work carpet for a long time.
I know probably both cultures never did meet in the past of because the huge & far distance between them. And even the Aztecs disappear before the wars of the red skins but I always admire them & respect.
Would be even a possibly encounter before the appearance of the white man? I really liked to be part of that then brother.

It's vaguely possible. The Pueblos were trading down into Mexico for parrot feathers (there's hieroglyphs along what may have been a trail in Albuquerque, NM.) The Pueblos did have some trade with the Plains Indians.
I'm not sure when the feathered warbonnets came into being for the Plains tribes, but (because I'm an info nerd) you can find out more about it here:

Goodness, everyone knows that eagles are the best. Nearly all cultures have a thing for eagles. Eagles are like S-class favorites, up there with dragons and tigers, lions and griffons (half eagle and lion, lol). Even snake creatures of myth around the world have feathers, from Aztec, Egypt, Persia and elsewhere. ^\/^.
