Tree spooks, while they have some superficial resemblance to flying foxes, do not have any kind of flying or gliding ability. When moving around the canopy in their natural environment, they rely on their climbing claws and prehensile tails to hold on to tree trunks and branches, and their light weight and powerful hind legs to leap from tree to tree.
While Shade does not have the advantage of growing up in that environment, he does still have some natural ability when it comes to climbing and balancing. His confidence, however, is more born of regular old teenager immortality.
