Name: William Thompson
Superhero Name: Coriolis
DOB: November 17, 1992
POB: Altoona, PA
Age: 24
Species: Raccoon
Nationality: American
Height: 5'9” / 175 cm.
Weight: 190 pounds / 85 kilograms
Eye Color: Blue-gray
Hair Color: Standard fur
Physical Appearance: Will is a fairly non-descript fellow in his civilian identity, perhaps a bit more sharp-muzzled and a touch less pudgy than the average raccoon. His eyes are memorable, with a sharp gaze and much lighter color than most of his species. His hair is short, the same length and pattern as his fur.
Occupation: Research paleoclimatologist at the Smithsonian Institute.
Area of Operation: America. East Coast Division, Washington Branch
Weapons/Items: BoS Communicator
Utility Belt – first aid kit, flashlight, multitool, standard items.
Kevlar body armor as part of costume.
Personal Transport: Personal flight in hero ID, 2012 Ford Escape in civilian ID.
Powers: Coriolis is a weather elemental, capable of manipulating air and energy into nearly any weather-related effect he wants. Standard repertoire includes flight, 'telekinesis', and shields using directed wind, electric bolts, rain and snow attacks, and the generation of fog for concealment.
If he has more time to concentrate, he can actually manipulate weather on larger scales; a few hours of concentration for generating a local rainstorm, days of effort to deflect a hurricane's path. As part of this, he can accurately predict the local weather.
Fighting Styles: Coriolis is not a hand-to-hand fighter, although he has had basic martial arts training from the BoS. He prefers to stay airborne and out of reach and use lightning and rainstorm attacks on opponents.
Strengths: Ranged attacks, capable of several different modes to take advantage of an opponent's weaker defenses.
Weaknesses: He has no unusual strength or defenses aside from Kevlar armor and martial arts training. His senses are normal for his species, aside from his ability to sense the weather.
Outfits: Haze-gray body suit and mask (his superhero mask blends his natural raccoon 'mask' into his normal fur color). Mask eyes are opaque from the outside to conceal his eye color. Hurricane weather-symbol in black on his upper left chest for an insignia.
In civvies, he wears almost anything except a suit, depending on the situation.
Bio: His great-grandfather Earl Thompson was a ground observer at the 1951 Easy nuclear test; great-grandmother Anne Johnson was downwind of the Hanford radiation release incident. Grandfather Mark Thompson was in SAC during the 1960's and spent time loading and unloading atomic bombs from planes in the B-52 fleet. In retrospect, it's surprising that only he and his younger cousin Sally became supers.
His powers first manifested in his early teens, a year of what he considered perfect weather – he noticed what he was doing when he managed to stall the Blizzard of 2005 over Altoona for three days. He kept that a secret and did his best not to manipulate the weather to get snow days afterwards – but he practiced with his powers as he grew up, and on his eighteenth birthday registered with the BoS. He completed college and his Masters program as a Bureau reservist, called up only a few times to deal with weather problems and once to join the team that went in to rescue his cousins, aunt, and uncle when young Sally attracted the wrong kind of attention. Once he graduated from college, he was hired on by the Smithsonian as a junior researcher, and became an active member of the Washington DC branch. He's become rather disillusioned by the amount of political chicanery that goes on there, and prefers to focus on dealing with street crime – where the issues are a bit more clear cut.
Personality: He's rather snarky and definitely cynical about furs in power – he's more than a little dismissive of his superiors at the BoS (and at the Smithsonian, for that matter) when he thinks they've gotten something wrong, and dislikes the UN's interference in what he considers to have been a purely American matter. (He considers the US ratification of the Superhero Registration Treaty to be a violation of US civil rights and loudly backs the proposed extensions of the Colmaton Truce.) On the flip side, he's got a soft spot for the 'little guys' and rather enjoys doing anti-crime patrols and nudging hurricanes away from the east coast when he can. He talks to cousin Sally/Ferric as often as he can, although he has to be careful not to blow his own identity by associating with her too much in public when he visits Colmaton (a regular thing in the California fire season).
