Character Age Progression Chart:: Shanido
Been working on this off and on for the last few months.
---
Today while I was working with my client, during the slow spots, I decided to take a break from working on commissions to finish this up.
Here you get to see how Shanido changed through life as he aged. And like all Pandorans, he was born without the bright blue markings their kind all bear. It wasn't until he reached early childhood, and found his element that his markings fully appeared on him. You can also see how his horns developed over time here. They were very tight and curled in during his youth, but around his teenage years they uncurled into what we know them as today. In most of the artwork in which Shanido is featured, he is shown as a teenager, since he's around 14 years old.
However you might notice a big change in him as he enters adulthood. ;)
Many of you probably know that Shanido is a half-breed. His mother was a Pandoran and his father was a Toxic-Blaze. While his younger brother Karakamooni bears the qualities of both races, the only evidence of his mixed blood are his eyes. But just like all the dragons in my world, when a young dragon enters adulthood, they go through a metamorphosis that changes their appearance, usually in a very noticeable manner. With Neffertity it was the development of her large fins and wings. With Nero, it was his mane becoming larger and more vibrant, as well as his lightning-bolt markings appearing on his scales. But here with Shanido, his Toxic-Blaze side has begun to become more evident.
The scales on his face have peeled back, revealing his skull underneath and several spines grow up through his skin along his spinal cord. It is also around this time that he will assume the role of King among his people, so his demeanor is forced to change.
And as he grows older, and earns the status of "Elder" among his clan, his horns are covered in intricate carvings to reflect his status among the clans. He also wears some of the royal garments of his birthright, including one with a moonstone. His eyes also change slightly, and he grows a few extra spikes on his chin.
Quite the change for the young prince to go through, but it is something he cannot avoid.
After all, it is in his blood.
Well, hope you enjoy this little snippet of art for now. I hope to have more avatars coming out soon. :)
