What? Anyway, who cares?
This needs some explanation. The factory looks like it must be at least a hundred years old, but when it became Cris-Pac, I don't know. They roasted peanuts and made potato chips, so I'm guessing no earlier than the 1920's, when chips became a mass market snack. They were still making chips under the Cris-Pac name as late as the 1950's, because I toured it sometime as a child under ten. Both my grandmother and mother had worked here! The place my grandmother lived in the 50's was only a few hundred yards away -- alas, though, it no longer exists. Today, I live less than a quarter of a mile from the old factory, so I'm rather fond of it. Moreover, it's can only be approached by a narrow alley, and isn't visible from the street. You have to know its there.
