Pocket Healer

*THUMP* The bull rammed into a tree, Kai rolled out of the way, his heavy Armour dragging him down as he stumbled to his feet and sprinted away, the faint hoofsteps becoming louder as he ran. Kai dodged and weaved through trees, him markings glowing with each abrupt movement as he did this hoping it would help slow the bull after him, accidentally smashing into a tree he held his face in pain and staggered up. Watching in horror he braced for impact, his eyes glowing with fear, shocked as it scrambled to a stop and sprinted the other way, a grave fear washed over Kai as he turned around to see a golden tree. Confused he placed his hand on it, looking it over he lifted some... Hair... No.... fur, Kai soon scrambled back aswell as the tree pivoted, revealing a gigantic foot “H: Oh dear, I’m sorry, are you alright?”. Staggering back Kai fell down, looking up at what appeared to be a gigantic Shiba Inu, His fur well kept and in some fairly revealing Armour, as opposed to Kai, who was taking no chances. The Giants green eyes stared down at Kai, The golden dog had a chest plate, only going as far as his shoulders, and a almost chain mail skirt, with armored padding under for any under the belt/skirt shots. Watching frozen as the giant stooped down he scooted back a bit, “H: I’m sorry normally my ears can hear you from up there, what did you say hun?” The Giant smiled warmly as he offered a finger, Kai placed his hand on it, following the giants small finger shake movements. The giant looked at Kai curiously, his eyes scanning him as he spoke again, “H: Ummm, you okay? I smell blood, you don’t have a concussion do you?” The giant asked as he slowly placed his hand next to kai, crushing two trees as he did so “K: N-no, I-I’m just... Scared....” Kai responded honestly. His eyes were glued to the giants hand as he spoke again “H: Oh... I’m... Sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you, I felt you bump into my ankle and I thought it was another angry bull, I guess they’ve learnt not to come near me any more”. Kai stood up slowly as he licked the blood off his upper lip, shifting his stance he spoke in a very humble Manor “K: I-I was actually being chased by one until I bumped into you, I’m glad you were here, my name is Kai Mijo, a fallen king due to dark magic” The giants eyes widened a bit as he looked Kai over “H: Oh my! I’m sorry to hear that, my name is Hiro Savour, just a traveller of sorts, I do odd jobs for money... Usually killing a dragon with my husbands help... It pays the massive bills...”. Kai stepped back again, losing his formal appearance “K: O-oh go- D-dragons?!?!?” Hiro looked suprised as he drew his sword, the motion severing multiple trees and creating a giant crater in the ground “H: Sure, I leave a notch in my sword every time I do, just so I can brag~” The giant wined at Kai as he tried to prevent himself from having a heart attack. Kai’s glowing eyes looked over the massive crater about a hundred feet away, his eyes going back up to the giant in disbeleif, “K: How... much... did just that sword cost?” he asked nervously “H: Oh this crummy thing? Only like 2.6 Mil, so like... Three and a half dragons?... I think?”. Hiro layed the sword in front of Kai, it having over a hundred notches in it, kai’s knees went weak as he looked back up at the smiling dog, shifting his feet he spoke in a confidently nervous tone “K: W-would you mind... H-helping me get back to town? I was supposed to kill a giant boar but I can’t find it anywhere”. Hiro slowlystood up, looking away nervous “H: Oh... I saw a giant boar... And then I had dinner... eating nicely is hard when you’re this big, but I’d be glad to give you a lift!”. Kai watched frozen as the macro dog, effortlessly grabbed him by the leg, lifting him up he scrabled to get a hand hold when placed on Hiro’s shoulder, looking down he gripped the collar of Hiro’s Chestplate, watching groups of trees bend over for the giant as he casually walked to town, his eyes fixated on the ground as he spoke “K: I guess I wont be eating tonight... That boar was my food and rent” he said quietly, getting a tighter grip as the macro slowly stops. Hiro turned his head slowly and looked down at Kai frowning “H: Oh... I am so sorry, please, let me reimburse you! How much was it worth?” Hiro pulled out a small pouch on his waist. Kai was about to refuse but opening it revealed a house worth of gold, and the bones of the boar, Hiro pinched some gold and lifted it to Kai smiling “K: Th-the bones!!! That’s all I need! I just need proof it’s dead! Huh?” Kai scrambled to grab the money as it was dropped on him “H: I wanted to chew those bones anyway”, half of it falling off the rounded shoulder pad as he gripped the coins in his cloth skirt which covered his plate mail leggings. Astonished he looked up at the giant, slowly turning over a few of the coins he shook his head in disbeleif, “K: These are all worth 50 gil each...” Hiro nodded slowly, watching Kai carefully pocket 15 of the coins, reaching back up to give the rest back. Hiro shook his head, “H: No those are yours, I don’t need them, as I said, I may have massive bills, but Dragons are rampent, I slay one like... every other month, finding food is my problem!” Kai nodded, slowly pocketing aother 70 coins in his pouch, dropping the rest as the giant carelessly walked again, within only a minute or two he stooped again “H: Okay we’re pretty much here~ I tend to make people nervous when I get too close to town, you were going to Riverstump right?”. Kai looked over at the familiar town smiling “K: Wow thanks! That was a heck of a lot faster than the half day it took me to go the other way! But... I actually had an idea” Hiro turned and smiled “H: Shoot little guy! I like Ideas” fidgeting as he tired to scootch on the metal, he found it was tailored to have absurd friction, making it difficult to slide on it, “K: So... I have training in Alchemy, as well as healing magic, my... alchemy is... inefficient, but it can turn gold into protein, f-food basically!” Hiro’s eyes lit up as he smiled wide “H: I’m getting pretty excited for the idea~”. Kai smiled nervously, looking up at Hiro he spoke in a nervous cracking tone “M-maybe I could come over for dinner... and turn a few thousand gil into some food? A 50 gil coin would typically make about a cow sized chunk of protein meat!”. Kai sqeaked as he was abruptly picked up by his leg again, seeing the pouch he screamed as he was dropped into it, landing on the gold he layed across a sea of gold peices, looking over at the bones as he watches the light disappear. Kai shifts awkwardly as he looked down at his lit up armour, light from his marking shining through as he sat nervous “K: guess that was a yes... Or a ‘you’re mine now’...”. Kai was startled by the sound of a door, listening carefully as he heard creaking of massive floorboards, grabbing onto some coins as the bag swung he heard Hiro call out “H: Binei~ I have dinner!” Kai scrambled as he had a panic attack “K: WHAT?!?! NO I’M NOT FOOD! PLEASE!” he screamed as the bag open, a confused Hiro staring down at him, a tall brown bunny stepping into view he looked down at Kai and smirked “B: Oh come on Hiro, you’re feeding me micros now? Was this one lost and you just scooped him up?”. Kai scrambled a bit as Hiro reached in and plucked Kai up by his leg again, “H: What?!!! No! He knows alchemy! He’ll turn our useless gold into food, right.. Kai? That was your name right hunny?” Kai looked at the bunny upside down, looking over at Hiro he spoke “K: I thought we were more of friends.. but okay” Hiro shifted Kai into his palm, bringing the other up to lightly smack himself “H: Oh gosh I’m sorry, I’m not too used to holding you little guys, I guess I need to get used to it now” Binei gives Kai a disapproving glare “B: Oh I think he just said that t0o save his own hide”. Kai pulled out a coin he received from Hiro, mumbling chants as his eyes glowed he turned the coin into a cow sized chunk of sloppy meat, beaming a smile back at Binei as hiro picked it up. Hiro smelled it, shrugging he tossed the nugget of meat into his mouth, spitting it out he whimpered loudly “H: Oh god it’s actually just raw meat, oh gross I thought it’d be cooked! Well... It was meat hun, he was telling the truth”. Binei shook his head as he placed a hand on the table, looking down at Kai he spoke softly “B: I really don’t like bugs, but you make Hiro happy, I’ll let him keep you I suppose” To which Hiro let out a happy shreik, “H: Oh you hear that Kai, you get to be my pet!”. Kai looked up at Hiro nervous, trying to find his voice “I... no... I’m a person, I’m not going to be a pet!” he said shakily, Hiro looking at him a bit deflated, but understanding “H: Okay... Sorry, can I have dinner now? I’m getting super hungry, I bet Binei is too!” Binei responded with a shrug. Soon Hiro would bee cooking what looked like a pile of ground beef, using expensive spices as he added thousands of unchopped vegetables, slowly making a sort of sir fry. Kai would be sitting atop Hiro’s head, resting atop his fluffy hair he imagined what life would be like if he was their pet, aside from Binei it seems like it would be nice. Kai would squeak quietly as he watched the brown bunny’s hand wrap around him, watching Hiro obliviously continue cooking as Binei walked over to the table, “H: Stir fry is done, I’ll be right back, just need to go to the bathroom before dinner!”. Binei would smirk as he left the room, looking down at Kai as he slowly placed him on a giant tortilla wrap “B: hehe~ Stupid bug~” He said teasingly. Walking over he grabbed the frying pan, dumping some ingredients on top of Kai as he scrambled, getting up he begins running and dodging the meat and vegetables. After what felt like half an hour Kai sprints for the table, only to have the wrap wrapped around him, pressed against the warm meat and veggies he squirmed furiously “K: B-BINEI, WH-WHAT ARE YOU DOING???” to which he got a chuckle in response, soon the wrap was tucked, forcing a piece of meat against Kai’s mouth as he tried to yell “K: Mfffff! MMMFFFFF!!!!”. Hiro would happily skip back in, his eyes glossing over Binei and right to the burrito set out for him, happily he skipped to it and sat down, the smell of cooked beef filling his nostrils, making the giant dog salivate. Kai would feel his world shift as Hiro picked up the burrito, feeling Hiro’s hot breath soak through the wrap, watching the faint light that soaked through the wrap fade as Hiro’s hot breath got even more apparent, feeling his teeth scrap across the wrap as he slowly sunk in, “K: MFFFFFFFF!!!!! Mfffffff.....”. Hiro would start to bite, stopping as a small familliar scent caught his nose, pulling the wrap out of his mouth he looked at Binei with slitted eyes “H: Binei... Where is Kai?” Binei shiftily looks down at Hiro’s burrito, Hiro looking down at his burrito in shock, dropping it he rips it open and pulls Kai out, licking him gently as he squirms, “K; G-gah!! L-et GO OF ME you nut job!”. Hiro immediately drops kai, his eyes glued to the mico as he lands on the burrito, scrambling to his feet he crawls through the food, getting off the plate he sprints to the edge of the table panting looking back as Binei eats, Hiro slowly reaching fo him as he stands with no where to go. Hiro slowly holds his hand out before Kai “H: I’m sorry hunny, I didn’t realise you had accidentally gotten wrapped up, I-I was only licking you to get the food off” “K: Wh-what do you mean accidentally? Binei did tha on purpose!!!!” Hiro looks over at Binei unamused, “B: I thought it would be funny... I was... Wrong... Sorry bu- Kai” Hiro sighs and picks up Kai softly, who squirms in his grasp. Hiro slowly petting Kai he would hand him a slab of meat from the burrito and place him on the table, eating as he pets Kai. Soon after they would all be done eating, Kai huddling up to Hiros hand now as he looked at Binei untrustingly, his glowing eyes wanting some sort of revenge, his concentration breaks as Hiro abruptly picks him up, and heads for the front door, “H: I’m gonna go show Kai how to kill a dragon hun, I’ll be back later, and you had better be ready to apologize!” Binei huffs and looks over “B: I did say sorry!!!” Hiro lifts his hand and stops him “H: You have yet to kiss our asses, so it’s not official yet!” Binei rolls his eyes and licks his lips “B: fiiine, just hurry back okay hun!”. Kai would be clinging to Hiros finger as he looks up at him “K: W-wait, I don’t think I can do this, I’ve never actually killed anything that big before Hiro!” Hiro would smile at Kai and give him a kiss “H: That’s alright, I’ll be doing all the work! You just watch and learn!”. Soon after an hour walk Hiro reaches a cave, placing you down on his shoulder he sighs and stares seriously, bagging his sword against the cave wall he waits, listening to the beast foot patterns, raising his sword he drops it just as a dragon crawls out, spewing a bit of fire, causing Hiro’s leg fur to catch fire, but soon getting beheaded in the process. Hiro would jump about frantically, causing Kai to fall off and onto his shirt as he tends to the wildfire that is his leg. Kai would cling to dear life as he screamed, watching hiro drag his Armour against his fur slowly, putting out the fire as he winced, Kai soon realizing Hiro had his hand under him the entire time. Hiro would look down at Kai and smile gently, small tears in his eyes as Kai looks up worried “K: What was I supposed to learn?” Hiro smiles as grabs his aching leg “H: Dragons always take the first shot, if you let them they can and will shoot fire for up to 5 minutes, which is why I make sure little ones like you don’t have to come near these horrid things”. Hiro knelt down, placing Kai near the severed head of the dragon, looking at the giant patch of missing hair, his skin red and tender as burn lines slowly become bigger as they become irritated, Hiro sighs annoyed as Kai steps forward “K: Hiro... Bring me up to your leg... I can help” Hiro looks curious as he hesitates. Kai watches as hiro’s massive fingers grasp his minuscule body, not that they had a confident grip before, but now the shaking fingers made him uneasy, brought closer Hiro cups Kai in his hand and places him against his burn whining, Kai putting out his arms he hums a tune, his markings glowing as he reverts the burns, turning the burnt hairs back to normal, the flaked off ones not returning as the fur gets a bit patchy, but looks almost 100% better. Kai kisses the calf lightly as Hiro brigs him up to his own face, his eyes trailing over Kai lovingly “H: Well thank you sweetie~ Once I have this dragon sold I’ll make sure you get a nice amount ^^” “K: N-no need Hiro... I think living with you would be a sufficient payment <3 living at an inn kinda sucks y’know?” Hiro would nod smiling as he tied the dragon up, stopping any blood, hoisting it onto his back he would trail back to town happily with Kai o his shoulder, Hiro humming the healing tune to himself as he is lost in thought.
