Yep, I'm TLG trash. :D
Anywhos, I felt like re-drawing a scene from the TLG episode "Lions of the Outlands" (which was pretty heck good!), only I tried to make it look more true to the original TLK style. Enjoy!

She is really small in this show. Seriously, she's like half the size she was during TL2:SP. I know it's a result of wanting the kids to interact with the adults without having to strain their necks, but still, she's no where near as intimidating as a dwarf lion.
As for the art, excellent work. It looks almost perfect, with the differences obviously being on purpose to alter the character designs to fit more with the old movie's style, where the details were sharper for faces and bodies. Not going to say their wrong with simplifying them for the series, as it is a difference that allows for more expressive moments, but still, it is nice to see them in the more detailed style.

I kinda have a hate/love with the show's style. Like you said it's perfectly understandable why they simplified the designs and the size differences, but I much prefer the original style by a long shot.
I kinda picture Kion and Kiara as being a little older in TLG, more like pre-teens which is (at least why I think it is) why they seem so big compared to the adult lions. So I kinda tried to draw Kion a bit more like that, if that makes any sense.

It does. You also made his muzzle longer, more feline like, while making his eyes smaller. Again, it's a change for the kid format..you know, despite the dead bodies and talking about death in at least half the episodes. Seriously, I don't remember that being a thing in kid's shows when I was that young. Except maybe David the Gnome, and that was because he was a doctor.
