So this is one of many items that I have yet to post, simply because I'm determined to write narrations for each, but life for the past couple of months has not permitted me to do so. This one is an Inktober commission from the lovely
inkrend which I enjoyed so much I created a narration for:
BEGIN NARRATIVE
The depths of winter engulfed the land Mag called home. Though no snow had yet fallen, the unrelenting cold offered no solace to those caught in its grasp. Mag could feel the bite of the cold on his fingers as he conducted his normal patrol on the outskirts of town.
I pity the soul that finds themselves at the mercy of the elements today, Mag thought to himself as he trudged along. It's as though death itself decided to visit us, this chill certainly is almost like that of the grave.
As Mag trekked forward, he noted a noted a figure lying in the middle of the road. The individual lay motionless, in a crumpled position that made them look more akin to a pile of rags than a fellow being. Mag rushed to the side of the being, fearing that it had succumbed to exposure due to the sheer cold of the day. Upon approaching, however, he began to see the being more clearly. Underneath all the garments lie a wolfess, teeth gritted in pain, curled up, as though protecting herself from an assailant.
Kneeling next to her, Mag saw the reason for the wolfess's pain. Under her cape, Mag noted the feltching of numerous arrows that pierced the wolfess's hide. In spite the grievous wounds, however, she yet breathed. A surge of adrenaline coursed through Mag as a dread sense of urgency dawned upon him as he attempted to awaken her.
"Hey, what has happened here, why has this happened to you?" Mag asked as she opened her eyes.
Barely conscious, the wolfess only weakly managed a single word in response: "Be.... betrayal." Weakened both by the loss of blood and exposure to the elements, she once again lost consciousness upon uttering the word.
Her words, however, deepened Mag's concern. Furrowing his brow, he began to scan the area for a potential ambush from the unnamed betrayers. Keeping alert to his surroundings, Mag’s ears swiveled swiftly in each direction, as he attempted to catch the scent of any other being nearby, seeking the location of possible attackers. Not detecting the original assailants, Mag picked up the wolfess's limp form, and began to carry her to town in order to shelter her from the elements to treat her wounds.
Groaning in pain, the wolfess awoke, shocked to be alive. As she fully started to gain consciousness, she began to run her hands across her body and her surprised deepened as she noted that someone had treated and bandaged her wounds, and had even gone as far to suture the tears in her garments from the attack.
"Good morning,” Mag’s unexpected words startling the wolfess. Grinning and placing a bowl of rations on a counter, Mag glanced at the wolfess and continued, “I'd rather wondered if I had made it in time to prevent any permanent damage," he stated.
Curling his lips and exposing her teeth towards the stranger, she attempted to gather her thoughts on her current situation. "Who are you?!" The wolfess snarled as she demanded. Suppressing any curiosity she leapt to her feet, and drew her sword. With the tip of the blade pointed at Mag's face, she sought to discover details of how she'd come to be there. "What have you done to me, why am I here?"
Mag grinned and tilted his head. "My name is Mag, I am the Captain of the Guard of our fair city, as for the rest, well, let us stop and reason for a moment. If I'd meant you harm, would I have left you so armed?" Mag asked warmly.
Disarmed by the canid's tone of voice, the wolfess paused for a moment in realization. "Thank you… for treating my wounds, and even repairing my robes." She said, sheathing her sword. A surge of pain coursed through her body as the adrenaline wore off, reminding her of the damage that had been done to her body by her assailants, causing her to stagger slightly. Catching herself, she sat back down to allow her body to rest. Glancing softly at Mag, she continued, "You did not need to do such a kindness. I am not one of the citizens of your town you know, and I have nothing I can offer you in repayment."
"That may be so," Mag replied, "But don't dismiss all beings in this life as enactors of cruelty, or manipulators with ulterior motives for each thing they do. Though I may be limited geographically to our fine city, I am of service to all who may need it, as you did that day, and I do not expect any form of recompense. What was your name, by the way? You were unable to say much when we first met."
The wolfess glanced down, memories of the attack surging through her mind and the helpless state her wounds had left her in. She glanced back at Mag, attempting to suppress the thoughts of that day. "It is Inkrend Strider, but… you can simply call me Ren."
"Well Ren," Mag began inquisitively, "you did utter one word the day we met that has me rather concerned. 'Betrayal' was the word. By whom, may I ask, were you betrayed?"
Ren glanced down once more, memories of both the attack, and the days before the betrayal that day surging through her mind. The conflicting memories and thoughts made Ren lose her sense of time and awareness from the sheer emotion the memories of betrayal stirred. Noting the conflict occurring within her mind, Mag approached her and placed an arm on her shoulder.
"There now, if it brings such consternation, you need not tell me. For now, just know that you are welcome in our city, and that if you ever need anything, you need just ask."
END NARRATIVE
I may tweek the narrative a bit here and there should there be any issues with it, but I do once again find myself needing to post things at an 80% solution rather than when I feel the writing has become perfect, let I not post anything at all for a while XD Hope ya'll enjoy this, and there should be more stories and commissioned art in the coming days.

yeah I saw and I save that one too is perfect sorry if I didnt pay attention to the history for now , but man let me tell you that I really like your character and the person behind the character I mean in those sites is always the same you know , "popular" people get crazy etc but you are different , really humble and friendly I been following on twitter too and is just like if you like to share with people and that is so great keep that wonderful way of being
Cool deal, and no worries, much as I like when folks read the stories I write, I know not everyone will have the time or interest in the topics to do so, and that is fine, as long as the posts are enjoyed, I'm good with whatever part is enjoyed XD
And thank you for your kind words :) I'd like to think that Mag is an extension, or "Avatar" of who I am at the very least, in spite many of the stories and situations he is in being fictional (not all though, there are a number based on real life). I suppose part of it has to do with the profession, since I have to deal with misery on a daily basis while on duty, I do not wish to spread misery whilst I am off duty, an perhaps do a small part to reduce it in the world, even while off duty XD

sorry man I would like to read but the work scheduale and just with data for telephone that sucks reading in a cellphone even if is "huge" sucks at least for me , so mag could be like your soul or part of you right? well in that case we are kind of similar with our characters I gues and yeah man keep doing so well as you are not many people today can be polite , friendly and less think in others more than themselves and that sucks is good try to make the difference in a world that day by day looks more darker and even worse that how the hell looks ... yeah as I said I follow you on twitter and looks like you are a real soldier that is awesome if you do your work with proud and in a good way
No worries, I certainly understand the cost of data, and the expense that going over can be.
Thank you :) And for all the issues that exist in the profession, I must admit, I am proud of ultimately what the organization stands for, and the opportunities its given me, both in carrying out my own ambitions, and the good it's allowed me to do, and I continue to look forward to the future adventures it holds for me XD

yeah sorry hope soon can have a decent access to internet once again , well that shows one thing "passion for your job" it doesnt matter wich duty are you doing , wich country are from as far you give your best , the rewards awaits and that little part "make the difference" now have sense , let me tell you congrats for that , also very nice way to see throught life "adventures" many people just have everything "money , social condition" etc but they inside are dying , they inside are like hollows or something and despite of they have "all" they got nothing for share , nothing to live , nothing inside and that is a shame , again keep doing right keep doing great as you are also I thank you for this little "conversation" mag
It's possible, you know, the style is all the rage with Captains of the Guard and all that jazz XP
No, but in seriousness, Inkrend really liked your armor design from "Long Live the King" and wanted to draw it for the Inktober piece :) Come to think of it, I get a large amount of comments about how much they enjoy your armor designs, from almost every piece in which you have designed one thing or another XD Many of those compliments are from artists themselves!
