Nae is young compare to Asami. She could turn around and strangle that old insect anytime she wants too, but part of me respects Asami for her dominance and control. Understandably she has built up the fear and respect through her rather rough and intimidating methods.

Seriously this old bitch has soul Im mean darn there are cruel people but goodness...I hope the beetle samurai stops this and cripples this horrid bitch.

I just read the whole thing today after seeing this in the new submissions and it's absolutely beautiful and a compelling read.

You can fault Sam for her actions she's doesn't have to kill the thing she reason from a baby. I mean Nae doesn't act like a jerk and she gets beaten a lot.
Sam seem to be the odd one here, the rest of them doesn't act like that.

Well, I have a different opinion.
We don't know anything about Asamis history, we don't know how she was treated and we certainly can't say she's the only asshole in the world.

Nae fucked up and though this might not be the punishment she deserves, I do do understand both sides.

holy shit, so much dumb people. What you think it is people, its not a child abuse, Asami hits her fo a reason, even if she doesn't know that Nae is kinda unstable. Thats called upbringing, when children does something wrong and dangerous this is a way to prevent them from doing it agian. Worked for my brother and myself, and I never hated my parents for that, because I knew they love me. Asami showed that she loves Nae too, cares for her at least, but if thats the way that she chose to educate Nae - its her choice, and if some unrelated person would try to affect this - would be wrong. So quit dreaming about Kurohasu suddenly appear in the role of super saviour and become Jesus of this comic, because that would be unrealistic move. Ofcourse if author wants - everything can happen, but you people really think that some random person has any right to interfere the family business - stop being naive stupid.

Just because you do not recognize it as abuse, does not mean it isn't. Having been abused myself, this is abuse.

You know, once, when I still was little I accidently opened a door of a car from inside, while the car was going like 80 km/h. I could easily fall of and end my own life, my dad was at the wheel, my older bro managed to close the door fast. Dad freaked out at that moment, and he drove us back home, where I took a beating from him, it was painfull, so next time I always was paying attention to what I was doing, because I was afraid of punishment. I never realised that till I actually growed up, and I realised that my Dad was afraid for my life, so he made sure I'd never do something like that again, because children don't take words seriously.

Same goes with Asami. she showed to us that she cares about Nae, not only about herself. The fact is that Asami doesn't know that Nae has mental problems, so she hits her, thinking that Nae is unfocused, and atm Nae's dream is to become good geisha, and you can't achive it with bad reputation as a sloppy person, thats why Asami hits her, she doesn't want her to become bad at what she is doing, she wants her to be better, BUT she doesn't know that Nae is unstable.

IF Asami hit Nae for her having mental sickness - thats when it becomes abuse. Be reasonable. I always speak not from my opinions, do I like or I do not - doesn't matter, I analyse situation and facts that I have, and speak only truth as it is, no more no less.

And that wasn't necessary. Beating is not okay. The lesson could have been conveyed without the abuse. Being afraid does not excuse the abuse, and the fact that you will defend it kind of sickens me. This is beyond Nae's control what happened to her, so no, Asami has no right to beat her. And no, that is not the reason Asami is beating Nae. Asami is beating Nae for making Asami look bad, not for the reason.

So Asami is allowed to hit Nae because she, outside of her own control, accidentally ruined a performance? You, friend, need to take a step back and realize that this is abuse.

Dude, Asami doesn't know that it happend cause of Nae was out of controll first. And she is allowed to hit her for her own good, because she is basicaly her mother.

Just wanted to butt in and say that doing something wrong out of ignorance is still doing something wrong. If you fuck up because you didn't know all the details at the time you are still guilty of fucking up.

Still , in the world portrayed in the comic, which is akin to an earlier Japanese period, Asami would be justified to exact physical punishment on her charges given the cultural morality of that society at said time.

Personally I think physical punishment of any sort doesn't belong in a more modern society,(like ours) physical violence always felt like a cop out to me, taking the easy way out.

But I recognize people are gonna do what they were taught to do, and I don't feel like it would be my place to tell them what they should or shouldn't do. However if I ever have kids, my partner will know straight away that nobody raises their hand on my child, nobody, ever. And God help them if they do.

Also funnily enough I had pretty much the exact circumstances when I was kid. Except it was my mother that was driving and my brothers weren't there to close the door, my mom had to hold me with one hand and drive safely to a stop with the other. I didn't get beaten for it though, I had a stern talking to about it, and even though I was young, I always respected my parent's words and never did it again. So yeah. I wouldn't say children don't take words seriously, more that it depends on the child and how the words are formulated.

There are good kids, but there are much more bad kids. Yet they have been raised with love, they never anwsered the same to their parents, they always talked to their parents like they belived they were equal, no respect, no shame at all. Kids that haven't been educated properly, that havent been shown their position in the family. My dad didn't hit me because he hated me, but because he loved me and was afraid for my life. You see, you cant live this life without love, comfort or pain, every aspect of this life is important experience, for you to be prepared for anything that life might throw at you.

Alot of children will listen just to words, but majority wont, never did. Majority of families around the world and all others that educate children, always educate children to be good, not to hurt others, not to steal, not to smoke etc. Yet look around. Why so much thieves, muggers, bullies, killers, junkies and etc. Passion always takes over fear, and sadly words hardly mean anything in lots of cases. People don't listen to others, especially children, there isn't much of those who actually do.

Imagine that you have a kid, that you will love so much, you wouldn't ever allow to rais a hand on him/her even for the sake of upbringing. And 20 years later your child doesn't love you, doesn't care about you, all he wants is all for himself, no respect for others at all. Sounds impossible to you eh? Well that is what I witnessed with my own eyes, unfortinatly, world is a cruel place, and you cant survive without being tough enough yourself, and people work just like heated metal, if it takes a hit, then It takes on the form and the meaning.

Yet that is only the common way of many russian people, alot of great people that I know and many of my good friends, had an experience of "mother/dad using a belt". Ofcourse it was horrifying and painful for each one of us, yet we all now acknowledge the reasons of our punishment.

Many children ourdays are too arogant and disrespectful to the elders, think that they have right to treat elders as their equals, yet they don't have real life experience at all. Check out what happend to Americans, who are "fighting" against "abuse", and for "freedom". Well now they have all the "freedom" they need to be whiny loud sissies, that don't like any other opinion but their own, that already "invented" over 9000 new genders, and preaching to the children about gay/lesbian sex, when children are not supposed to know anything about sex in general, untill they figure everything out themselves, endless sodomy and people that changed their gender.

Think whatever you like about it, I certainly don't like such situation, I'm simply disgust about it.

I'll also add, that new generations have ALWAYS been considered rude and arrogant to the previous generations, we have proofs of this all the way back to Ancient Greece so really that doesn't mean anything about the kids today.

Personally, I'm of the idea that while yes, the Elderly should be respected for the time spent in this world, that doesn't give you a free card to be an arse, respect still has to be earned and the first step to earning it is to give it as well. Also I think that the experience of the Elderly is varied given how much the world changes as times passes by.

And if my kid grows to not care about me after 20 years, then so be it, I would have tried my best either way they are their own person and are free to make their own choices that also includes resenting me if they so wish it, and I know it could've happened and does happen also to kids who get beaten, even "for their own good".

"when children are not supposed to know anything about sex in general, until they figure everything out themselves" is pretty much what states like Texas do and they end up with one of the highest teen pregnancy rates in the entire United States.

But we're getting awfully political there, and this isn't really the place for that. I suggest we leave it at different views from different peeps and let people enjoy the comic in peace..
