Torren, such a strange place, a region with pokemon way more hostile and stronger than Kanto.

I've been walking through this forest for about an hour now. I've been finding all sorts of pokemon, both strong and weak. I came across a little grotto hidden in between a set of trees and bushes that I almost missed.

What I found residing there was something different from the other pokemon I've met.

Oh yeah, my name is Michael, and I'm a Nidoking.

Anyway, I moved aside the bushes in my way, and saw a pokemon that I have yet to encounter.

This grotto was the very definition of beauty, it was surrounded by trees, and in the center was a patch of flowers. Right above the flowers was a hole where sunlight shone in, just a little, like a spotlight over the flowers, and the pokemon sitting in them, staring at the sky above him.

It was a Zangoose. I had heard about Zangoose before. They were a couple inches shorter than me, and stood out with their bright red marks.

Without thinking, I had began walking towards him, he must have heard me, for as I approached, he stood up and faced me.

The first thing I noticed about him was that he was short. I had never seen a Zangoose before, but I knew that they were taller, about a couple inches shorter than someone my size; he was about a foot and a half shorter than me.
And as for the obvious, his marks were not red, they were green.

Back to what I said, Torren is a strange place. In this region, it was very rare, but I had heard that in the wild there lie special pokemon that have a different type than their original brethren, and I don't mean like a region-form, but mutated genetics.

This Zangoose, could he be one of those pokemon?

I kept walking towards him, our eyes eventually meeting. When I got a few feet away from him, he took a step back, and that caused me to stop walking.

I don't think he was scared of me, but didn't want to get close.

The two of us stood in that position. The wind was lightly blowing, and we both stood under the light, in the middle of the field of flowers.

To break the silence, I gave him a small smile.

"Hey"
