Has that been implied by anyone at Valve or is it just speculation? I heard similar things said about arena mode before it came out.
Even if you could pick up or drop items in the field I still don't think that would be beyond the FPS norm, BF2 (and I think CoD from what I've heard) allowed you to do that with unlocks.

nope. Though, I think these songs would be much easier with one. I took the soundclips and organized them by pitch, then stretched the closest ones to the tone or length I needed. If they got stretched or squashed too much, it would sound weird, cause I didn't use autotune to correct it
