These are all Matari of note, trying to specially design each one's mask so it's obviously not similar to eachother was something of a task, but it was a fun study to do for my story for once.
I didn't want to cover all of them in white.. but felt that it was a greater disservice to not mark legitimately dangerous characters with the color that signifies danger in the culture.
Trocei "The Mad" - A lesser Matari, driven mad with clarity, able to view all possible roads both past, present and future. Most days she rests in her prison, the copious amounts of energy her mind filters through steaming out through her mouth and eyes. The few times she is not blind to the world around her, she surges with life and purpose, posing a very real threat to anyone who stands in her way.
Siren "The Crimson" - A lesser Matari, he spends many of his days observing mortals, shaping the southern continent and releasing new beasts into the world, some for practical purpose, others more for his amusement. Some folk of the southern continent tell tales of seeing a great red wolfbeast that races through the planes, leaps mountain peaks and stalks the jungles and marshes, an eerie silence always preceeding it...
Phereo "The Drake King" - A greater Matari keeping the form of some sort of dragon, lethal smoke billowing from his lungs, easily allowing him to keep such a title with little question, if anything, his entourage of Moa are perhaps the only real sign that this monster of an earth-shaper is a Matari. Phereo is also known as a godchild devourer, having slain and wolfed down one that had attempted to claim the northern continent as it's throne and territory to mock it's father, having found its reign of terror swiftly end between the vice-like jaws of The Drake King.
Baneii "She who said no" - A greater Matari who, when a godchild attempted to claim the northern continent, said "No". For her stalwart rejection of its usurping authority, it punished her with shredding her wings, taking an arm and making her mute forever more. But this kind and gentle female still continues work, despite needing her entourage of Moa to assist her and sooth the phantom aches.
Archus Angius "The Twilight Strider" - A greater Matari who's enigmatic and secretive, few ever get to pay witness to his form, some describing him as a great winged lion, others describing more frightful things... but with his predominantly white garb and white markings, many are thankful that he is difficult to meet.
Muchi Koda "The Shattered one" - A hybrid between lesser and greater Mataris, he keeps to himself, and keeps a smaller, more subtle form to evade the notice of possible threats. Unfortunately his hopes of remaining out of the spotlight were squashed, his new title owing to a dangerous run in with an ambitious huntai, having attempted to steal his power, the attack leaving him with a shattered mask and other wounds. He bears no white markings, having spent most of his adult life traveling and healing mortals.
Phobias "The Nightmare king" - A very dangerous greater Matari, Phobias was Muchi's mentor growing up, having a great range of prowess and skill in many magic styles, despite his delight in illusions and grafting nightmares. It is said Phobias is one of the few who knows where Archus Angius dwells and the truth behind the middle Continent.
