Background:
Former GSG 9 member, Mustang was on the team in charge of “taking care of” Omnics in Germany through arrests. Where as most officers would arrest the Omnics that lived in the slums for loitering, arrest them for no reason, or abuse power and assault them; Mustang would talk to them in person, convince them to lay low and not cause trouble. If someone was arrested or assaulted unfairly, he would be the one to bail them out or negotiate a lesser sentence. Due to his intervention, the crime rate and arrest rates of Omnics dropped and Human-Omnics relations were starting to better in Bonn.
The Overwatch team heard about him and his effectiveness in keeping Omnics out of trouble, and so he was recruited for the new era of Overwatch. There he became friends with the military members like Reaper, 76, and Ana while becoming good friends with Ernesto and Winston.
