Taken at Heritage Farm and Village in Huntington, WV. One of the steam engines on display. It has Christmas lights on it so I had to crop it kind of close. The identifying plaque read, "40 horsepower steam tractor engine Manufactured by J I Case".
Why the eagle is on a basket ball, I don't know.
Digital camera. Outdoor setting.

Thought you'd like to see the Frick engine, too. https://www.flickr.com/photos/42545.....posted-public/
The 40 HP machine was on the large side of usual for an eastern farm. A friend of mine brings out a very large 65 HP machine each year to a few shows, but he brought it here from Wisconsin.
Two Pennsylvania towns near to us produced many steam tractors like this - Waynesboro had the Frick Co. and Greencastle produced engines by E-B Co. and Geiser Engineering.

This Frick sits next to the Case. I didn't see what company the third engine (to the left) was manufactured by.
Taken at http://www.heritagefarmmuseum.com/ is the location. Open to the public year round. < $20 to get in. Many buildings, lots of interesting stuff. Docents let you play with stuff if you ask first. I got to show one how to operate an old centrifuge in the druggists' office. :D
