Story Idea #459 that might not go anywhere:

In the future, the death penalty is abolished. Age Regression is voluntary for those that would normally warrant the worse punishments, in lieu of lifetime imprisonment. Some Minor mental adjustments are made (unknown to the public and the inmate) so as to prevent repeat offenses. Reva and Zella were part of a six man gang of vicious criminals, even though they were fairly low level. They get caught, and are about to spill the beans on the rest of the gang, when the system is hacked and puts them as volunteers for the AR. Adopted out by an intrepid housewife working on a novel, she has full knowledge of who they used to be, finding the subject matter possibly a good theme for a book. However, it is discovered that the regressed sometimes have lapses where they remember their past, unless a certain procedure is followed. Due to the hacking, it wasn't. Fearful of the fact the babies might remember who they were, the gang attempts to eliminate the babies, but finds their 'mother' is no slouch at home defense. Left with no other option, two of the members undergo the treatment to get closer to the children. After all, accidents happen on playdates all the time, right?
